Minneapolis, Minn. – The Minnesota Star Tribune in partnership with Lemonada Media announced today the launch of the new podcast “Worth It,” premiering on Friday, May 2. Hosted by the Minnesota Star Tribune’s night editor Nicole Norfleet and new outstate columnist Aaron Brown, “Worth It” is an every-Friday podcast that delivers news you can use: reviews, tips, laughs and unexpected local insight as a go-to source for what to know, where to go, and what to skip. Listen to the trailer today here.

“Minnesota is the land of 10,000 possibilities, and we’re here to tell you which ones are worth it,” said co-host Nicole Norfleet, a 15-year veteran of the Minnesota Star Tribune and Twin Cities resident. “We skip the Minnesota Nice and get right to the good stuff,” added co-host Aaron Brown, who has lived his entire life on the Iron Range. With a vibrant, clever, personality-driven style, “Worth It” is packed with local flavor, expert recommendations, and tips you didn’t know you needed—served with humor, curiosity, and just the right amount of sass and spark.

“We are such believers in the power of local media to foster a strong community. It has been a wonderful opportunity to partner with the Minnesota Star Tribune to celebrate all the ins and outs of our mutual home state on this exciting new series that will highlight the best of our region,” said Lemonada’s CEO and co-founder, Jessica Cordova Kramer. “We are so grateful to the Strib team for bringing such enthusiasm and passion to this project and to Minnesota.”

“Worth It” is a collaboration between the Minnesota Star Tribune and Lemonada Media, the Minneapolis-based, award-winning, women-led podcast network known for “making life suck less” through innovative, heartfelt storytelling.

About the Hosts of “Worth It”:

  • Nicole Norfleet lives in the state’s capital city of St. Paul and works nights as an editor at the Minnesota Star Tribune. A Minnesota transplant from the East Coast, she’s spent most of her 15 years in the North Star State causing a ruckus on the East Side of St. Paul, which she now calls home. A fan of craft beer, camping, Korean dramas, and especially her one-year-old son, she brings warmth and wit to the mic.
  • Aaron Brown is a fifth-generation Mesabi Iron Ranger and Minnesota Star Tribune columnist (StribVoices) who lives with his family deep in the woods of Itasca County. A former radio host and community college teacher, he’s known for his love of birds, gardening, electronic dance music, and road-tripping across Greater Minnesota in search of curious characters and hidden stories.
