Details

The Minnesota Star Tribune will be visiting cities across the state in 2026, hosting community discussions with another year of the Minnesota Matters tour!

Join us in Rochester for a panel discussion and Q&A on “Living Near Data Centers,” moderated by Minnesota Star Tribune reporter Trey Mewes. Meet panelists Luke Norquist, legal fellow at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy; Thom Jackson, data center designer at Dunham Associates; and Kristoffer Tigue, climate reporter for the Minnesota Star Tribune.

We’ll discuss nondisclosure agreements, data centers’ energy and water use and other possible environmental effects, along with the potential benefits of data centers, such as a growing local economy, new jobs and higher tax revenue.

Get a sense of the policy discussions around data centers taking place from town halls to the Minnesota Legislature.
