The Star Tribune newsroom offers one of the best summer internship programs available in our industry. We proudly produce the nation’s 7th largest Sunday newspaper and 12th largest daily newspaper. With more than 6 million unique visitors and 85 million pageviews per month, startribune.com is Minnesota’s largest website by far. Moreover, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul consistently rank among the best places to live. We select at least 10 candidates for paid 10-week internships each summer. We’re looking for budding journalists who’ve demonstrated they’re ready to make the most of this opportunity. While we would never say never, the odds of your landing one of our internship spots are not very good if you’ve never interned at a professional newspaper, news magazine or website. Your online application must be uploaded or postmarked by Dec. 1, 2013 for the 2014 Summer Internship.
Any supplemental materials, such as a CD with photos or page designs, also must be postmarked by Dec. 1. We have slightly different requirements for each craft area: reporting, copy editing/multiplatform editing, design, photography and multimedia.
