Rita Moreno to speak at 2007 Star Tribune Women’s Lecture Series Feb. 21Minneapolis/St. Paul - (February 16, 2007) - Actress Rita Moreno will speak at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. Moreno is the second speaker in the 2007 season of the Star Tribune Women's Lecture Series presented by Herberger’s and produced by SMART TALK™.
Moreno first appeared on stage at the age of 13 and worked steadily until her role as Anita in “West Side Story” catapulted her to worldwide fame. Fighting Latino stereotypes all along the way, she managed to break the mold and set a precedent for actors to be recognized by talent, rather than ethnicity. She has earned an Oscar, a Tony, two Emmys, a Grammy and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Tickets for the Star Tribune Women’s Lecture Series are sold as a package for the entire season. However, some tickets for this lecture may be available at the Orchestra Hall box office: 612-371-5656.
