Terry Sauer promoted to Managing Editor for StarTribune.comMinneapolis/St. Paul - (May 16, 2006) - Terry Sauer has been promoted to managing editor for StarTribune.com, becoming the website’s first managing editor.
Sauer, who will report to Will Tacy, the editor of StarTribune.com, will set the daily news priorities for the website, keeping it up-to-date and relevant. He also will be a key member of the online leadership team and help to plan interactive strategy for StarTribune.com, which is the leading local website in the Twin Cities market.
Sauer currently is page one editor in the Star Tribune newsroom. His new assignment is effective June 12.
“This move is another major step in our continuing efforts to fully integrate our news and online operations,” said Scott Gillespie, managing editor, News. “Sauer brings great enthusiasm for the future of news, regardless of the medium, to his new position.”
Sauer, 47, has held a number of key newsroom jobs during his 20-plus years with the Star Tribune. He has a degree in journalism from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
