Geena Davis to speak at 2006 Star Tribune Women’s Lecture Series presented by Herberger’s May 18

Minneapolis/St. Paul - (May 15, 2006) - Geena Davis – A-list actress, Mensa member, competitive archer, pianist, model, producer, and mother – will speak at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis Thursday, May 18, 7:30 p.m. Davis is the fifth and final speaker in the 10th anniversary season of the Star Tribune Women's Lecture Series presented by Herberger’s and produced by SMART TALK.

In her newest television role as the first female President of the United States, Davis continues her trailblazing ways, which began long ago when she starred in the film Thelma & Louise. With that film, an anthem for female empowerment, Geena Davis helped redefine the role of women in Hollywood for a new generation. In 1988, she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and cemented her place in the upper echelon of Hollywood. Since then, her career has continued to rise and now Davis is definitely in a league of her own.
