Twin Cities Metro Spelling Bee Science Museum of Minnesota, March 3, 2005

Minneapolis/St. Paul - (February 21, 2005) - WHO: Twenty-eight champion fifth- through eighth-grade spellers from seven metro-area counties (Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, Dakota, Washington, Scott and Carver), each of whom qualified for the Bee by successfully competing at the semi-finals held at the Star Tribune Feb. 23.

WHAT: The Twin Cities Metro Spelling Bee, a division of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, sponsored locally by the Star Tribune.

WHEN: March 3, 2005, Check in 5:15-5:45 p.m.; spelling rounds begin at 6 p.m.

WHERE: The Science Museum of Minnesota (in Discovery Hall on the fourth floor)

HOW: The bee will take place in rounds, with the winner being determined by process of elimination.

The new metro area champion will receive a trip for two to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C., May 31 - June 2, 2005, courtesy of the Star Tribune.
