Star Tribune promotes Helen Wainwright to senior vice president of human resources and labor relationsMinneapolis/St. Paul - (January 31, 2005) - Helen Wainwright has been promoted to senior vice president of human resources and labor relations at the Star Tribune, J. Keith Moyer, publisher and president announced today.
Wainwright, 41, previously was the Star Tribune's vice president for human resources.
"Helen's promotion recognizes the outstanding leadership she has demonstrated in working effectively and fairly with our many labor unions and in developing and implementing the Star Tribune's high performance workplace initiative." Moyer said. "She has expertly focused on programs to improve workplace performance."
Wainwright is a long-time executive with The McClatchy Co., the Star Tribune's parent corporation. She came to the Star Tribune in May 2002 from The Fresno Bee, where she was human resources director. She has been in human resource roles with McClatchy since 1988, working at McClatchy corporate human resources in Sacramento and at The Herald in Rock Hill, SC. She has an MBA and a BA from California State University, Sacramento.
