MINNEAPOLIS – Oct. 2, 2014 – Star Tribune Media Co., Minnesota’s largest news organization, today announced that it has promoted Paul Kasbohm to senior vice president and chief revenue officer. The 17-year Star Tribune veteran will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s advertising-based revenue, leading a 150-person sales, marketing and product management team.
Most recently, as vice president of advertising, Kasbohm has led Star Tribune’s strategic expansion from traditional daily print advertising model to total market coverage through innovative solutions such as Strib Express and Twin Cities Values that provide advertisers with multiple options to both saturate the market and target audiences with precision. In his new role, he will draw on his deep relationships with major Star Tribune clients and in-depth knowledge of the Minneapolis–St. Paul market. Kasbohm takes over for Jeff Griffing, who has accepted a position as executive vice president of Taylor Corp., a company owned by Glen Taylor, owner of the Star Tribune.
“On behalf of the entire management team, I congratulate Paul on this well-deserved promotion and look forward to his broader role in expanding Star Tribune’s revenue sources,” said Mike Klingensmith, publisher and CEO. “In a fast-changing industry, Paul has played an instrumental role in shaping our revenue strategies over the past several years. This has ultimately made the Star Tribune one of the nation’s top-performing major metro news organizations and the envy of our peers. We look forward to Paul’s increased contributions to the Star Tribune’s success.”
“It is an honor to have the chance to continue to work alongside some of the most talented people in our industry,” Kasbohm said. “I’m grateful that I’ll be able to continue in this expanded capacity and deepen Star Tribune’s relationships with advertisers and readers for years to come.”
