MINNEAPOLIS – April 12, 2016–Responding to demand from readers and advertisers alike, Star Tribune Media Co., Minnesota’s largest media company, announced today that it is expanding the distribution of its StribExpress, the shopper-requested, home-delivered weekly news and preprint advertising publication. The expanded footprint will take StribExpress from 85,000 to 100,000 opt-in subscribers in 130 ZIP codes throughout the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area.
Each Sunday, StribExpress subscribers receive a curated six-page selection of lifestyle and feature stories from the Star Tribune combined with an average of 16–20 preprinted advertisements, circulars, and coupons from advertisers such as Cub Foods, Slumberland, Target, and Menard’s that readers value as they plan their weekly shopping activities. In fact, research by Frank N. Magid Associates found that 82 percent of readers take action based on the ads they see in StribExpress.
Circulation for the no-charge weekly has grown steadily and will be five times larger this year than at its launch in 2010. And since StribExpress is an audited publication with a strict opt-in process, advertisers have greater confidence that their marketing messages reach willing, intended markets. The added subscribers will come from its current footprint in 123 ZIP codes as well as seven new ZIP codes in the north and east metro areas.
“We’re grateful that both our advertisers and readers continue to respond so positively to the StribExpress brand,” said Paul Kasbohm, chief revenue officer. “This expanded footprint and larger base of audited subscribers for a home-delivered product demonstrate the flexibility and value that we are able to provide our advertisers to drive in-store sales week in and week out.”
