Job Description: Acts as the point person in implementing web applications throughout StarTribune.com, vita.mn and buzz.mn. Works collaboratively with Software Engineers and editorial staff to plan for and execute these applications. Acts as a Macromedia Flash ActionScript guru, supporting existing Flash applications that use ActionScript heavily, and being the lead developer on new ActionScript-heavy Flash applications. Manages stakeholder communications around installation and updates of these web applications. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 2+ years technology experience * Experienced in or aptitude for creating and modifying web applications written in PHP and Java utilizing MySQL implemented in a Linux/Apache environment * Demonstrated aptitude for Macromedia Flash ActionScript development * Strong ability in construct HTML, CSS and Javascript to achieve web application goals * Familiarity with different web programming platforms and Web 2.0 technologies * Demonstrated experience aiding in development of business requirements for Web sites/services and software * Knowledgeable in the specifics of how web technology works, including web servers, browsers and web applications * Negotiation, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Media industry experience, understanding of internet business and audience models * Ability to lead, communicate and interact with people at all levels across the company as well as external partners * Focus on achieving results; persists at tasks despite difficulties * Experienced in or aptitude for using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
