Job Description: The Senior Producer/Multimedia is responsible for establishing and guiding the quality of multimedia storytelling at the Star Tribune. This person has a strategic responsibility in setting standards for how our multimedia is presented on the site, how we coach and train news staff in creating and producing multimedia content and in how we promote multimedia content across all of our platforms, including the newspaper. This person has a lead role in setting StarTribune.com multimedia standards and ethics. The Senior Producer is responsible for supervising and coordinating the continued video- and audio-gathering training for photographers, reporters and other news staff. He or she will work closely with the Director of Multimedia on establishing the vision for multimedia storytelling at the Star Tribune. The Senior Producer will support managers in tracking and evaluating the performance of video, including daily, spot news and programmed content. The Senior Producer is also responsible for supporting managers in coordinating with sales & marketing, promotions and other Star Tribune departments in efforts to grow the profile and strength of Star Tribune video. Reports to the Director of Multimedia.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have news, video and web experience. Must have an extensive, accomplished journalism career in video production and video storytelling, solid communication skills, a collaborative nature and organizational skills. An understanding of news presentation and commitment to storytelling is essential. Traditional broadcast experience would be helpful.
