Matt Theiler Director of Printing Operations

Matt Theiler is director of printing operations. He is responsible for production operations including newsprint, platemaking, the electric shop and the pressroom.

Theiler joined the Star Tribune in 1979 in the pressroom and moved into production management when he was named printing project manager in 1997. In 1998, he was promoted to pressroom manager and in 2005 platemaking was added to his responsibilities.

In recent years, Theiler has either led or been a part of the project team for the press expansion, Y2K conversion, 50" cutdown, AGV replacement, ink reclamation, press controls installation and 48" cutdown. He also was part of the team that helped take our printing capabilities to a new level, earning international recognition for print quality two years in a row.
