Phillips joined the Star Tribune in 1998 as IT director for operations and network. She was named IT director for infrastructure in 2001, promoted to director of Advertising and Prepress Operations in 2003, and promoted to her current position in 2007.
Prior to joining the Star Tribune, Phillips held a variety of technical and management positions for Deluxe Corporation, where she worked for 16 years.
