Michael Seraphine Director, Human Resources

Michael Seraphine was promoted to director, Human Resources (HR) at the Star Tribune in 2002. He is responsible for directing the HR generalist and employee relations function and the resource protection function (safety, workers' compensation-and wellness) for the company. He also is involved in the implementation of company-wide HR initiatives.

Seraphine joined the Star Tribune in 1976 as a staffing representative and supervisor. He was promoted to compensation and benefits manager in 1985, to personnel manager in 1986, corporate human resources manager in 1989, and senior human resources manager in 1990.

Before coming to the Star Tribune, Seraphine worked as a personnel technician for St. Louis County (Minn.) and served four years in the United States Air Force.

Seraphine has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Minnesota, and has completed certification programs in Industrial Relations and Compensation.
