Cafeteria On-site
We have a full-service employee cafeteria, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, available at our downtown location.

Credit Union
The Star Choice Credit Union (a separate entity from the Star Tribune) has offices onsite at the downtown location and the production facility. The credit union offers members a variety of savings and checking account options, and numerous types of loans, banking and notary services. Credit union membership is open to employees and their relatives.

Community Involvement
We believe in giving back to the community and recognize that employees can play a valuable role as volunteers.

Discounts
Employees receive a discount when purchasing any of the following for their personal use:
· Metropolitan Council Transit Operations (MCTO) bus passes at a discount (through the Star Choice Credit Union).
· Star Tribune classified advertising
· Subscriptions to the Star Tribune newspaper

Flexible Work Options
We offer flexible work options to non-union employees, where feasible, to allow them to better balance their work life and personal needs, while enabling the company to meet its business requirements. These arrangements may include flextime, part-time work, job sharing, a compressed work week schedule, telecommuting, a remote work site – or a combination of these.

Fitness Centers
To help our employees maintain a healthy lifestyle and give them more control over rising health care costs, we offer two on-site fitness centers, one at the Portland facility and the other at the Heritage production plant. Group exercise classes and personal training are offered.

Parking
Star Tribune employees can park in the company’s parking lots for reasonable monthly rates.
