Chuck Brown Controller, Finance

Chuck Brown, vice president/controller and treasurer, is responsible for the integrity of Star Tribune’s financial reporting and Sarbanes Oxley internal control compliance. Additionally, he oversees Star Tribune’s transactional finance processes including Payroll, Accounts Payable and Credit.

Brown joined the Star Tribune in 1997 as manager, Financial Reporting, and soon after he was named director, Accounting Services. He was promoted to controller in 2003 and to vice president/controller and treasurer in 2007. Prior to joining the Star Tribune, he was a divisional controller for Travelers Express Company.

Brown has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and holds the Certified Public Accountant designation.

Brown is on the board of directors of the Minnesota Daily. He also is active locally in the photographic arts community.
