Ben Taylor is senior vice president, Marketing and Communications. He is responsible for the company's marketing, internal and external communications, community affairs and the Star Tribune Foundation.

Taylor was named to his current position in 2006. He had been senior vice president of Communications and Community Affairs, and prior to that, vice president of Marketing. Before coming to the Star Tribune in 1995, Taylor worked for The New York Times Co. in a variety of marketing and product development roles. At The Times he managed strategic research and planning, and worked on the expansion of the newspaper's National Edition, later moving to the company's magazine division as director of magazine development and special interest publishing.

Taylor began his career as a reporter, editor and editorial writer at the Palm Beach Post in West Palm Beach, Fla. He also worked as a research associate at the University of Michigan's Department of Mass Communication and taught courses in journalistic writing and media research at the University of Michigan.

Taylor has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the
Twin Cities Communication Council and has served on the board of directors for Neighborhood House and
Meet Minneapolis. He has been a co-chair of the City of Minneapolis STEP-UP Summer Jobs Program and
was a member of the Minnesota News Council.
