Alexander, who joined the Star Tribune in 1999, is the former president, Los Angeles Region, and vice president, Consumer Marketing-Circulation at the Los Angeles Times. He's also worked at the Daily News of Los Angeles from 1978-1984, the Marin (Calif.) Independent Journal from 1984-1986, and Times Mirror (owner of the Los Angeles Times), where he held a number of circulation, distribution and consumer marketing posts from 1986-1999.
Alexander has served on the Newspaper Association of America (NAA)/Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) Liaison Committee, a group whose mission is to make recommendations to the ABC board of directors about the rules that govern how newspaper circulation is measured.
Alexander has a bachelor's degree in business administration/ marketing from the University of Southern California. He also has completed the Times Mirror Leadership Development Program and the Northwestern University Executive Program.
