"The newspaper industry is in a period of great transition. We are reaching for the future to recreate this business for ourselves, for our community, and for those who believe passionately in the cause of good journalism. We are evolving into a true multi-media newsroom, capable of not only delivering news to the online, but to other platforms as well. We’re embracing many means of telling a story and delivering news, whether it’s in video, audio, photo, or the printed word, whether it arrives by podcast, cell phone or newspaper. We’re developing rich programming for the web, and training photographers and reporters for video. Yet even as we make this transition, we will continue to deliver on the fundamentals - owning the local news market, and developing content that stands above the generic news of the day."
