Michael T. Sweeney, of Minneapolis, became Chairman of the Board of Star Tribune Media Holdings, the holding company for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, in September 2009. He also remains a partner in Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison, Inc. in Minneapolis, which he joined in 2000. He served as that firm's Managing Partner from 2001 through 2008. Prior to joining GHJ&M, he was President of Starbucks Coffee Company (UK) Ltd. He is also director of First Solar, Inc. (NASDQ:FSLR), where he chairs the Compensation Committee. He is a trustee of the Guthrie Theater and the Walker Art Center.



L. Gordon Crovitz, of New York, is a former Wall Street Journal publisher and Dow Jones executive who was responsible for the growth of that company's highly successful digital businesses, including The Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch, Barron's Online, Dow Jones Newswires, Dow Jones Indexes and Factiva. He currently works as an advisor and director to information and technology companies, specializing in business transformations. He is the co-founder of Journalism Online, designed to help newspapers and other publishers monetize their online content, and he is on the board of directors of ProQuest, an online information service, and Blurb, a digital publishing company. Additionally, he writes the "Information Age" column for The Wall Street Journal and is on the advisory boards of a number of technology companies including UpCompany, Halogen Guides, YouNoodle, Peer39, SkyGrid, ExpertCEO and others.



William F. Farley, of Minneapolis, has been an investor and senior executive of a number of businesses. He served as vice chairman of First Bank System (now US Bancorp) from 1990 to 1996. Currently he is a principal of Livingston Capital, a private investment business he started in 2002. Previously, he has served as chairman and CEO of Science, Inc., a medical device startup, and was CEO of Kinnard Investments, a regional investment bank. He is currently on the board of directors of Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Harte-Hanks and TSI. He is a former board member of Wilsons Leather and First Advantage Bancshares.



Michael J. Klingensmith, of Minneapolis, is publisher and CEO of Star Tribune Media Company LLC with overall responsibility for all news and business operations of the company. Klingensmith, a native of the Twin Cities, joined the Star Tribune in January, 2010, after spending most of his more than 30-year career in publishing with Time Inc. in New York City. He was the co-developer of the concept for Entertainment Weekly and became its founding publisher in 1989. In 1998, he was named president of Sports Illustrated, and in 2001, he became executive vice president at Time Inc. in charge of one of the company's three operating groups as well as several corporate functions. He left Time Inc. in 2008 and was a managing director of AdMedia Partners, a New York mergers and acquisition advisory firm, prior to joining the Star Tribune.



Michael E. Reed, of Rochester, NY, is the CEO of GateHouse Media, Inc., which owns 92 daily newspapers and more than 500 local community newspapers in 21 states. The company focuses on providing valuable local content to the communities it serves. Prior to joining GateHouse, he was president and CEO of Community Newspaper Holdings, which he led through a large expansion through both internal growth and acquisition of both community newspapers and smaller market TV stations. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Associated Press and the Newspaper Association of America and previously served on the board of the Inland Press Association.
